The Good Auto Co Pty Ltd (ABN 48 702 212 897, Queensland motor dealer licence MTDL 4998685) sells used cars from 3 Manilla Street, East Brisbane QLD 4169. In this policy “we” means that company. This policy covers this website. It sits alongside our cookies and data handling pages.

When you send an enquiry, a visit request or a “wanted car” request, we keep:

• your name, and the phone number or email you give us;
• your message, and the time you ask to visit, if you pick one;
• which car you asked about (and the price you saw), and the page you sent it from;
• how you first reached the site in that visit: the link or search you came from, any campaign tags in the link, and whether you used a phone or a computer.

Our web host also keeps ordinary server logs (such as your IP address, the page asked for and your browser type). We use them to keep the site running and secure.

If you call, email or message us on WhatsApp, we keep what you tell us in the same way we would for any customer conversation. If you buy a car, we collect what the law requires for the sale, which is covered by the paperwork you sign, not this website.

To reply to the question you asked, arrange a time to see a car, and look for a car you want. We also use the “how you reached the site” details to understand which of our links people use. We don’t use your details for anything else.

We don’t sell your details. We don’t send marketing messages unless you ask us to. If we ever start a mailing list, you will be asked first and every message will have an unsubscribe link (as the Spam Act 2003 requires).

The owners and anyone at the business who needs to answer you. We also use these services to run the site. They handle your details only to provide that service:

• our website host (Vercel), which serves the site and processes the form you submit;
• our database host (Supabase), where enquiries are stored;
• an email delivery service that sends us a notification of your enquiry;
• our car management and lead system (EasyCars), which may receive a copy of your enquiry so we can match it to the car.

If you tap a WhatsApp or map link, that opens a separate service (Meta or Google), and their own privacy policies apply from that point.

We may also disclose your details if the law requires it, for example to a court, the police or a regulator.

Some of the services above run computers outside Australia, so your details can be processed or stored overseas, including in the United States. Our database is hosted in Sydney. We choose providers who say they protect the information they hold, and we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe wherever it is.

We keep an enquiry for as long as it is useful for following up, and for as long as the law requires us to keep records of a sale. You can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time. We will, unless the law requires us to keep it.

Enquiries are stored so that the public can’t read them, and only password-protected staff access can. The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). The data handling page says more. If we learn of a data breach that is likely to cause serious harm, we will tell the people affected and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the law requires.

If you think we’ve handled your information badly, tell us first and we’ll look into it and reply in writing. If you aren’t happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

This policy follows the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), which we apply to this website whether or not the law strictly requires a business of our size to.
